About

Independent counsel for the waste-to-energy transition.

Royal Road Renewables works alongside developers, food processors, dairies, and municipalities to build anaerobic digestion projects that pencil out — technically, financially, and politically.

Our role is to de-risk decisions before capital is committed and to keep projects moving once they are.

Services

Full-lifecycle consulting for anaerobic digestion projects.

Engagements range from one-week feasibility sprints to multi-year owner's engineer roles.

01

Project Development

Site selection, feedstock contracting, interconnection strategy, and permitting roadmaps for greenfield AD facilities.

02

Technical Diligence

Independent engineer reviews, mass-balance modeling, and technology selection across wet, dry, and high-solids systems.

03

Financing & Offtake

Capital stack design, LCFS / D3 RIN pathway support, and negotiation of RNG, power, and digestate offtake agreements.

04

Operations & Optimization

Performance audits, biology troubleshooting, and OPEX reduction programs for digesters already in the ground.

Biogas plant pipework
Process

From waste stream to energy stream.

  1. 01

    Feedstock

Manure, food waste, fats/oils/greases, and crop residues are aggregated and pre-processed.

  2. 02

    Digestion

Microbes break down organic matter in oxygen-free tanks, producing biogas and digestate.

  3. 03

    Upgrading

Biogas is cleaned to pipeline-grade RNG, used for power generation, or compressed for transport.

  4. 04

    Return

Nutrient-rich digestate is returned to farmland, closing the loop on a circular system.
